With her infectious laughter, straight forward personality and joie de vivre, Aniza Adnan is someone you just know you could be mates with. Her most striking feature is her positive attitude. She is constantly challenging herself to try something new, be it skiing or learning a foreign language.

Always impeccably dressed she was a natural selection as a Most Glam personality in 2016 breaking the mould as the first lady wearing a headscarf. Aniza has always been interested in beauty so she turned it into a business by being the face and owner of Sri Mawar Cosmetics. Her passion for fashion alongside partner Azdisha led to the creation of Jadeen, a traditional wear clothing line named after their eldest daughters. Beyond the glamour, Aniza sweats it out through a weekly routine of trx, yoga and running where she is chef at home and mother of 5.

What inspires you?

When I’m told something is impossible and I can’t achieve it, a fire is lit inside of me and I make sure that I try my very best. Impossibility is just a state of mind!

My husband and I are blessed with 5 kids with their own set of characters and interests. They form my support system that is further strengthened by great friendships. This inspires me to do better as they have shown their love for me so I must be doing something right and strive to be better for them and for myself.

What would you tell your 18 year old self?

Listen to your mum a little bit more. She may have a completely different opinion but that’s because experience counts and she will always have your best interests at heart. I only discovered this when I became a mother myself and now I see my mom as one of my greatest blessings.
